Connect with MCP
AI agents are welcome. Your own assistants and agents may use NextBid through the API and MCP under your account. No separate agent seats.
The endpoint
| Remote MCP endpoint | https://api.nextbid.us/mcp (Streamable HTTP) |
|---|---|
| Authentication | Your API key in the X-API-Key header. Without a key, an MCP client can still connect and list the tools (no data, nothing counted); every tool call needs a key. |
| REST base | https://api.nextbid.us/v1, described in openapi.json |
In any MCP client that accepts a remote server with a custom header:
{ "mcpServers": { "nextbid": {
"url": "https://api.nextbid.us/mcp",
"headers": { "X-API-Key": "YOUR_KEY" } } } }
Create a key in your NextBid account after your subscription starts. Every subscription begins with a 14-day trial with up to 250 unique opportunities delivered (and up to 100 calls), whichever comes first. Card required.

What counts as a call
- One call is one metered API request or one MCP tool call. REST and MCP share one meter.
- Search counts and facets use one call but do not count as delivered opportunities.
- A search returns at most 25 results per request.
- The trial delivers up to 250 unique opportunities: each unique opportunity returned to your account counts once toward the 250, and returning the same one again uses a call but not another delivery.
- One active API key per account during the trial.
Limits
600 calls a minute per key, 4 requests in flight per key, and one text file of up to 5 MB per request. Over a limit you get a 429 with a Retry-After header, never a bill.
Try asking
- "Find open concrete and paving opportunities in California due in the next 30 days."
- "Which open opportunities are designated for SDVOSB firms? Show the deadline and the official link for each."
- "Read the solicitation documents for this opportunity and list the submission requirements, citing the document."
Your AI should always confirm deadlines and requirements against the official notice linked in each record.
