How our AI works
Where AI is used
- Different models for different tasks. NextBid uses different AI models for different tasks. Lightweight models may enrich and classify procurement records at scale. Higher-value customer summaries are generated and reviewed through our enhanced analysis pipeline before being shown to customers.
- Summaries in the Data API. Some records in the Data API include a short generic summary, delivered in its own field and labelled as an AI summary. It never replaces the agency's text or documents. These generic summaries are written by an open-weight model that NextBid runs on its own hardware in the U.S.; no outside AI provider receives the records or the summaries.
- Your own AI. When you connect your assistant or agent through the API or MCP, your AI does its own reasoning on NextBid records. We do not see your model or your conversation.
Where AI is not used
The facts in a record are produced by software rules, not by AI: merging duplicates, the deadline and status, the open count, trade classification from source codes and wording, set-aside designations, and the text extracted from documents. When a fact comes from a document, it stays tied to that document.
What AI never decides
AI summaries and classifications are decision-support tools. They do not determine eligibility, award likelihood or what you should submit. You make the call, and the issuing agency's official notice controls.
When your AI uses NextBid
AI agents are welcome. Your own assistants and agents may use NextBid through the API and MCP under your account. No separate agent seats.
- We record what the API returned to your keys: the operation, its parameters, result counts and opportunity numbers. We never record your AI's conversation.
- Pursuits are recorded only when you or your agent say so.
- You are responsible for the keys you create and what your agents do with them. See the API Terms.
Your data and model training
NextBid does not train AI models on your data. The AI providers we use and what each one receives are listed on Subprocessors.
